AI computer access

Let an AI agent work on the computer where your files and tools already live.

RelayDesk pairs a machine to your account and exposes practical machine tools to supported AI clients through MCP. The AI can work with files, directories, terminal processes, local searches, logs and diagnostics without moving the whole project into a hosted chat sandbox.

What AI computer access means in RelayDesk

RelayDesk is not screen sharing. It is a controlled tool layer between an AI assistant and a device you own. A paired Windows, macOS or Linux machine can expose file and process capabilities that the AI calls when your task requires the actual device.

  • Read, create, move and edit normal files and directories.
  • Run terminal commands, builds, tests and CLIs.
  • Inspect running processes and command output.
  • Search local files and continue long-running terminal work.
  • Reach computers, servers and VMs from a supported AI client.

Useful when cloud chat is not enough

Many tasks depend on state that already exists on a real machine: a repository with local changes, a build toolchain, downloaded assets, service logs, a private VM, or a long-running process. RelayDesk keeps that state on the device and gives the AI a route to it.

Security boundaries stay separate from convenience

Normal work locations are available by default, while RelayDesk separately blocks recognized credential stores, private keys, authentication secrets and protected browser credential paths. A user can locally narrow filesystem access when needed, and remote MCP calls cannot silently widen those local restrictions.

Use it from the AI you already work in

RelayDesk is designed as an MCP/device layer rather than a single-assistant product. Setup differs by provider, but the paired device stays the same.
