RelayDeskConnect a server
Linux servers and VMs

Let your AI inspect a Linux server without exposing an inbound SSH port.

Pair a VPS or headless Linux machine with RelayDesk, then use a compatible AI client to inspect logs, check processes and run authorized commands. The agent makes an outbound connection; you do not have to give the AI your SSH password or open a public inbound port for RelayDesk.

Connect a headless server

  1. Sign in to RelayDesk and choose Add device → Linux / server.
  2. Run the displayed installer command in the server's terminal or SSH session.
  3. If the server has no browser, copy the pairing URL into a browser on your own computer and approve the device.
  4. Confirm the device is Online in your dashboard, then connect a supported AI client.

RelayDesk installs its own runtime. You do not need a desktop environment or a preinstalled Node.js runtime.

What can the AI actually do?

Ask it to check a failing systemd service, inspect application logs, read a project directory, compare build output or run a diagnostic command. It acts on the paired machine and returns results to the conversation; it is not a video stream or graphical remote desktop.

For example: “On my staging VPS, check why the application is failing health checks. Inspect logs and report what changed before making edits.”

What happens if the machine goes offline?

The agent is designed to remain installed and reconnect when service and network availability permit. An offline or powered-off server cannot execute new commands; online status is visible in your dashboard. Persistent installation does not mean uninterrupted execution without network access.

Security boundaries

Only explicitly paired devices are available through your authenticated connection. Sensitive paths and dangerous operations have local safeguards; review the requested operation before granting a client access. RelayDesk is not a replacement for server backup, least privilege or operating-system security.
